Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Rail Debuts on Feb. 25th

China Railway Corporation announces today that Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Railway is bound to launch on January 25th 2018 and the authority will start selling related train tickets at 9:00 am on January 19th.

With an initial maximum speed of 200 km per hour, the debut of Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Railway opens an express rail passage from the Chengdu-Chongqing area in Southwest China to the South China and even the East China regions. It will also largely improve the capacity of railway passenger transportation in the 2018 Spring Festival Travel Season coming soon.

Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Railway originates from Chongqing West Railway Station and terminates at Guiyang North Railway Station via Qijiang, Zunyi, Xifeng and etc. It is an electrified double track railway with the length of 347 kilometers. Newly built stations en route are Chongqing West Railway Station, Luohuang South Railway Station, Qijiang East Railway Station, Ganshui East Railway Station, Tongzi North Railway Station, Tongzi East Railway Station, Loushanguan South Railway Station, Zunyi Railway Station, Longkeng Railway Station, Zunyi South Railway Station, Xifeng Railway Station and Xiuwen County Railway Station.

Construction work on Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Railway started in May 2013 and it entered joint debugging and commissioning period in October 2017.

In the initial period, China railway department will deploy 66 pairs of high speed bullet trains on this railway line, of which, 8 pairs are running between Chongqing and Guiyang, 9 pairs are running between Chongqing and Guangzhou and 6 pairs of trains are running between Chongqing and Kunming. With the debut of these high speed trains, minimum train riding time from Chongqing to Guiyang, Chongqing to Guangzhou and Chongqing to Kunming are expected to reduce from approximate 9 hours, 12 hours and 19 hours to as short as 2 hours and 2 minutes, 7 hours and 10 minutes and 4 hours and 40 minutes respectively.

International travelers will be able to check train schedule, fares and ticket availability for trains running on Chongqing-Guiyang Railway through the homepage of www.chinatrainguide.com after 9 am on January 19th 2018.
