Guiyang East Railway Station

Guiyang has four railway stations, naming Guiyang Railway Station, Guiyang North Railway Station, Guiyang Longdongbao Airport Railway Station and Guiyang East Railway Station.
Guiyang Railway Station is mainly a regular train station and the other three serve the advanced high speed bullet trains.

Address

Locating in Nainiuchang area of Wudang District(乌当区奶牛场片区), Guiyang East Railway Station is a large scale railway station of Guiyang-Kaiyang Intercity Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High speed Railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou High Speed Railway as well as the two ongoing railways including Chongqing-Guiyang Railway and Chengdu-Guiyang High Speed Railway.

History

With 10 platforms and 18 tracks, Guiyang East Railway Station was inaugurated on June 18, 2015. Since then, it has been used to reroute railway traffic flow instead of accepting passengers. That is, in the past, all trains have just passed through the station under green light without making stop here.

the New Role

With more and more CRH trains putting into service, Guiyang North Railway Station is turning overloaded. The authority decides to relocate partial passenger flow from Guiyang North Railway Station to Guiyang East Railway Station. On November 2, 2017, Guiyang East Railway Station begins passenger transportation service.
Initially, Guiyang East Railway Station just serves 4 pairs of CRH trains on Guiyang-Kaiyang Intercity Railway with daily passenger volume of about 3,500.
It’s expected to serve more than 20,000 passengers per day when Chongqing-Guiyang High Speed Railway opens in the beginning of year 2018. The opening of Chengdu-Guiyang Passenger Railway will even boost its daily ridership to more than 40,000 in the long run.

Facilities & Layout

The 9983 square-meter station building, which is 149 meters long on the east and west and 41 meters wide on the south and north, can accommodate 2,000 people simultaneously.

It has two functional floors. The waiting hall is located at the center of the 1st floor as well as the east and west wings on the 2nd floor. The east wing on the first floor is used as ticket hall and its west counterpart is used as the exit.
As of today, Guiyang East Railway Station has 14 ticket windows, 8 sets of automated ticket machines and 8 sets of automatic ticket gates.

Transportation

Metro is not available yet. So far, the best way to get to Guiyang East Railway Station is to take taxi. Besides this, passengers can take either No. 217 or No. 106 bus to get there.
