Shenyang City, the capital of Liaoning province, is the largest city in northeast of china. In addition, as a major heavy industry base of China mainly in the field of equipment manufacturing, Shenyang enjoys the good reputation of "Oriental Ruhr".

Furthermore, Shenyang is a railway hub of northeast China, with many railway meetings such as Beijing-Harbin Railway, Shenyang-Dalian Railway, Shenyang-Jilin Railway, Shenyang-Dandong Railway, Shenyang-Shanhaiguan Railway and Shenyang-Dalian High-speed Rail.

There are three railway stations in Shenyang: Shenyang Railway Station, Shenyang North Railway Station and Sujiatun Railway Station. Among them, Shenyang Railway Station is the largest one


Shenyang Railway Station Guide

Shenyang Railway Station is situated at No.2 Shengli Street, Heping District, Shenyang. It is equipped with 10 platforms and 18 tracks used for passenger and freight transportation services. Among the 18 tracks, No.1-10 tracks are High-speed ones which specially stop High-speed Rail trains and multiple unit trains; No.11-18 are regular tracks which stop normal trains.

Shenyang Railway Station consists of the East and the West Station Building.

Purchasing tickets from the East Station Building or East Square

Passengers taking Metro Line 1 to the station may directly purchase or pick up their tickets from the ticket window that locate just on the underground passage, which enable them to enter the station building straightly.

There are 19 Manually Ticketing Windows and 7 Ticket Vending Machines near the North Exit of the East Station Building. Among them, the leftmost window is Manually Ticketing Window for special use of accessibility.

Entering from the East Station Building or East Square

The East Station Building is an old one which was reopened on July 30th, 2013 after reconstruction. The East Square of the station is close to the subway station, where passengers getting off from the subway station of Shenyang Railway Station may directly enter the East Station Building by taking Escalator.

Passengers on the ground floor may enter the station from the Entrance of the East Station Building (under the large clock of Shenyang Railway Station) or the two small doors nearby. They may get to the elevated waiting hall by taking escalators on both sides or climbing stairs. After going through security, they may enter the waiting area.

How to get to the East Station Building

Metro Line 1 is available for traveling to and from the East Station Building.

Bus: the following buses are also available: No.205, No.206, No.223, No.225, No.246, No.327 and No.523 bus.

The West Station Building and West Square

The West Station Building, with an overall appearance of brown-red, has a construction area of about 50, 000 square meters. It has altogether 4 floors: Commercial service floor, waiting room floor, platform floor and Exit floor (from top-down).

Purchasing tickets from the West Station Building or West Square

The West Station Building is equipped with 16 Ticket Vending Machines and 32 Manually Ticketing Windows (20 on the first floor while 12 on the second floor).

Entering from the West Station Building or West Square

Passengers may walk into the first floor of the Station Building from the Entrance, and then they must go through either of the security-check equipments which are placed on both sides of the first floor. After that, passengers may take the 4 escalators or climb stairs to the second floor - the elevated waiting hall. It is admitted for the cars to directly go up to the second floor via the east-west covered bridge of the West Station Building; then passengers getting out of cars may straightly walk into the elevated hall.

Buses to and from the West Square

The following buses are available for passengers to travel to and from the West Square: No.201, No.233, No.281, No.284, No.299 and No.170 bus.

Waiting for trains

The West Station Building, with an area of 16,000 square meters, is connected with the East Station Building, which enables both the buildings to share a waiting hall. On both sides of the elevated hall there are ticket gates which are marked with serial numbers corresponding to the platforms on the ground. Passengers should first gather at the elevated hall, and then have their tickets checked at the corresponding ticket gate by following the instruction of radio, finally go down to the platform to board their trains. The third floor of the waiting hall is commercial service areas which are equipped with supermarkets, newsstands, grocery stores and so on. Silver blue Emergency Cellphone Charging Stations are set up beside the supermarkets and books & newspapers area.

Barrier-free escalators are set up between each platform to the elevated hall and to the underground Exit passage, which enables the disabled to enter station or get out of station more conveniently. At the center of the waiting hall there is a "Sunshine Service Desk" providing services of information and complaint reception as well as serving the passengers in desperate need of help.

Getting out of the station

Between the East and West Square there is a 31-meter-wide Municipal Underground Passage which not only links the two squares but is also used as the exit passage of Shenyang Railway Station.

There is Entrance/Exit of underground passage at the platforms. Passengers getting off the train may get to the underground passage by escalator or stairs, and then arrive at the Ticket Exit. After going through related ticket inspection procedure, passengers may go west and get out of the underground passage to the West Square. Besides, passengers heading for the East Square may go east and get to the ground floor from the north Entrance/Exit; passengers who need to transfer to the subway may directly go east to the subway Entrance B of Subway Station for Shenyang Railway Station.


Shenyang North Railway Station Guide

Shenyang North Railway Station is situated at No.102 Beizhan Road, Shenhe District, Shenyang.

It consists of South Station Building (the main building), elevated waiting hall and North Station Building (the sub-building). Among them the elevated waiting hall can accommodate 5000 people waiting for trains at the same time.

Ticketing

The ticket office of the South Station Building lies on the east side of the South Square of Shenyang North Railway Station. It has two floors in total: the first floor is equipped with 32 ticket vending Machines to meet the need of passengers; the second floor is equipped with 26 Manual Ticketing Windows providing services of booking tickets, picking up tickets, changing tickets and refunding tickets. Among them, Window 24 is used for refunding tickets, Window 23 is used for changing tickets, Window 18 is English-speaking Service Window, and Window 26 is used for selling air tickets.

The first floor of the Sub-Station Building is equipped with 9 Manual Ticketing Windows and 6 Ticket Vending Machines.

How to Enter the Train Station
Walking directly to the Entrance Hall from the south square

The door of the Entrance Hall, on the 1st floor of South Station Building, is marked with words of "A1 South Entrance". Passengers may enter the station building via this Entrance from the square, and then get to the elevated waiting hall by taking the 4 escalators up to the third floor. It takes only 2 minutes to finish the whole process.

For Those Driving via the Elevated Passage

Passengers taking a car to the South Station Building via the Elevated Passage must get to the bridge from east side and reach the Entrance marked with "A2 South Entrance" on the third floor, then get off the car and enter the station for ticket check and security check. If all things go well, it takes less than one minute to finish the whole process. It is suggested that passengers should have their tickets ready before entering the hall and being checked.

The way to Entrance for passengers taking subway

Passengers taking subway need not come out from the subway station, and they may walk to the central area of the South Square by following the direction board, then walk up to the ground floor from the northernmost Exit of underground passage. It takes only 2-3 minutes to reach the Entrance Hall of the South Station Building.

The way to Entrance for passengers by bus

There are Entrances to the underground passage on both the east bus ground and the west bus ground. Passengers by bus may go down to the underground passage from the Entrance, and then get to the central area of the South Square by following the direction board.

Another Exit to the front door of the South Station Building is set up at the northernmost of the central area, and from there passengers may go up to the ground floor and walk to the Entrance Hall on the first floor. If passengers take the right way, it will take about 5 minutes to finish the whole process.

Waiting for trains

The elevated waiting hall can accommodate 5000 people at the same time. VIP Area for High-speed train travelers is in front of the waiting area by A5-A6 ticket gates, and it is equipped with 74 sofa seats. Passengers with business-class tickets or first-class tickets may wait for trains here.

Waiting Room for infant & mom is in front of the waiting area by B5-B6 ticket gates, and it is equipped with closed private space for nursing. Lactating Women with babies may have access to it for free.

Getting out of the station on foot

Having gotten off the train, passengers who want to leave the railway station directly may walk to No.1 South Exit or No.2 South Exit via underground passage, and then get out of the Exit to the south square.

from the South Station Building to the subway station

If you want to take subway, you may enter the under-ground passage inside No.1 or No.2 South Exit Hall, and walk to the central area of Basement One, then turn west and walk to the subway station.

from the South Station Building to bus station

Passengers who want to get to bus station from the South Station Building may first enter the underground passage by way of No.1 or No.2 South Exit Hall, and walk to the central area of Basement One, then turn to the south and pass the Beizhan Road by following the directions; after getting upstairs to the ground floor from the Exit and finally get to the bus station.

Taking a taxi at the South Station Building

Passengers should go to parking lots for social vehicles, if there is someone coming to pick them up; otherwise they should get to the parking lots for taxies to take taxi. Both the parking lots lie in the underground of the South Square. Passengers may first enter the ground passage by way of the entrance of No.1 or No.2 South Exit Hall, and walk to the central area of Basement One, then turn to the east and get to the parking lots for social vehicles by following the directions or turn to the west and get to the parking lots for taxies.


Shenyang West Railway Station

Shenyang West Railway Station, situated in Masanjia Street, Yuhong District, Shenyang, is a stop for the trains commuting between Shenyang Railway Station and Masanjia Railway Station.


Sujiatun Railway Station

Sujiatun Railway Station is situated at No.1 Fengyang Road, Sujiatun District, Shenyang. It has one waiting building and two wings (one is used as administration building and the luggage room, and the other is restaurant).There are altogether 2 platforms in the station: Platform One stops the trains north to Shenyang, and Platform Two stops the trains south to Dalian and Dandong.


Transfer Guide

Shenyang Railway Station to Shenyang North Railway Station

Bus: Passengers may take the following buses to and from between these two places: No.328, No.262, No.152, No.399, No.295, No.216, No.123, No.203, No.271, or NO.114 bus.

Subway: Passengers may take Metro Line 1(to Liming Square) and get off at the stop of Qingnian Street, then transfer to Metro Line 2(to Santaizi) and get off at the stop of Shenyang North Railway Station, finally head for Shenyang North Railway Station from Exit B. It takes about 20 minutes for the whole journey.

Taxi: The distance between these two places is about 10 kilometers, and it takes about 20 minutes by taxi with a fare of CNY 20 Yuan or so.

Shenyang Railway Station to Shenyang Taoxian International Airport

Bus: After getting out of the Exit, passengers may walk to (SK) Mansion of Shenyang Bus Station, and take Airport bus Line 2 to Taoxian Airport. It takes about 90 minutes with a fare of CNY 17 Yuan.

Taxi: The shortest riding distance between these two places is 26 kilometers, and it takes about 30 minutes by taxi with a fare of CNY 60 Yuan.

Shenyang Railway Station to Shenyang Imperial Palace

Subway: Passengers may take Metro Line 1 and get off at the stop of Zhongjie, then walk to Shenyang Imperial Palace.

Taxi: It takes about 20 minutes and cost at least CNY 20 Yuan for passengers to cover the shortest distance of 8 kilometers by taxi.

Shenyang North Railway Station to Shenyang Taoxian International Airport

Riding distance is about 26 kilometers, and no direct buses are available between these two places. It takes about 45 minutes with the fare of CNY 60 Yuan to travel by taxi.

Shenyang North Railway Station to Shenyang Imperial Palace

Bus: No.224 and No.333 buses are available for passengers to travel between these two places.

Subway: Passengers may take Metro Line 2 and get off at the stop of Qingnian Street, then transfer to Metro Line 1 and get off at the stop of Zhongjie, finally walk to Shenyang Imperial Palace.

Taxi: The shortest riding distance between these two places is 4 kilometers, and it takes about 10 minutes by taxi with cost of CNY 10 Yuan.
